*Family was invited to a YouTube Kids event here in NYC.All opinions are my own*
A few weekends ago Gabby and her dad attended a #YouTubeKids launch party here in NYC! I was unable to attend because I was in Los Angeles for a few days. I did however follow the #YouTubeKids hashtag and was able to look at all the fun everyone was having! Gabby was SUPER excited to attend the YouTube Kids launch party! She is OBSESSED with YouTube. OBSESSED I tell ya! (I am a bit obsessed myself…I can spend hours watching all those beauty gurus!)
Here are a few pics from the party:
Gabby and Payton had a great time at the YouTube Kids launch party! Thanks so much for the invite YouTube! Now let’s talk about the app!
YouTube Kids App
I for one am VERY excited about the new YouTube Kids app! Like I mentioned before, Gabby LOVES YouTube. Unfortunately, YouTube can be a free for all. There have been a few times when it seemed like Gabs was watching a harmless kids video then all of a sudden it would be inappropriate with foul language. I would quickly make her change it. It happened one too many times though..
Thank you Google for the YouTube Kids app! For starters I love the simplicity of the app. Big and bold icons!
Even though she can read and write, Gabby loves using the voice command option!
This is great for the littles ones to search for what they are looking for!
I love that the parent controls are pretty simple as well.
However, I wish we had the option of creating our own password.
My daughter can easily read the words (Seven-Two-One).
This is only a concern for me for the kids who can read..
The little ones should be fine! =)
The video player itself is simple. It plays the video and has some suggestions on the bottom.
No thumbs up, or thumbs down.
No reading or leaving comments.
Simple video watching.
Kid friendly and appropriate videos!
Overall I am very happy with the new YouTube Kids app!
What do you all think of it?
It will soon be available on Kurio and Nabi kids’ tablets!
