My friend Morgan and her boys recently came to visit me while I’m here in Los Angeles! I had not seen them since they moved to Northern California last April. It was so nice being able to hang out with them over the weekend! There was so much we wanted to do! It was hard to squeeze in so much, in so little time! I can’t wait to go visit them in the Bay Area!
Driving to Venice Beach
Our 1st day started off late, so we weren’t able to do much. We went out for a late lunch, then ended the day at Venice Beach. The boys had fun skating & skateboarding, while us moms had fun catching up and chit chatting!

Day 2 was awesome! It went by so fast! We started off the day meeting up in Hollywood. We then went out for lunch at Best Fish Taco In Ensenada. Their Fish Tacos were good. And this is coming from someone who isn’t a huge Sea Food fan. Their Horchata was awesome, and only $1.00! After lunch we headed to the Griffith Observatory. It was so nice! I wish we had more time to explore. I can’t wait to go visit again! The views from up top were amazing! Admission is free, though you do have to pay for some exhibits. Oh- and parking was free too! We didn’t stay long because we wanted to make sure we had enough time to get to the beach before the sun set. I was excited to go to Dockweiler State Beach! We were all excited to make a bonfire on the beach! It’s free to use the fire pits too! There is free parking along the beach, however, it’s a been of a trek to the beach. So we ended up paying for parking that made things a lot easier, especially with kids!
The weekend went by way too fast! It was so nice being able to hang out with my friend Morgan and her kids. Motherhood can be hard, but it’s just a little easier & better when you’re surrounded by amazing friends. I’ve known Morgan since our kids were little babies! And I know we’ll be lifelong friends!
Exploring Los Angeles was fun! Even on a budget! Most of what we did was free, asides from paying for food & parking. There is so much to do in Los Angeles! I can’t wait to explore some more! And I definitely can’t wait to visit the Bay Area, since I’ve never been there before!
Any places you recommend I visit while I’m in LA?
