Toyota #MealsPerHour (Sponsored)

One thing I love about being a blogger is spreading the word on things I like, love, well…anything really. Super Storm Sandy was no joke. Many people were affected by it. Some are still dealing with the aftermath months later. Thats why this campaign was something I wanted to absolutely be a part of!

“Toyota partnered with Food Bank For New York City to bring food to areas that were impacted by Superstorm Sandy. The program called Meals Per Hour, galvanized a team from the Toyota Production System Support Center (TSSC) to share Toyota know-how on how to do more with less.

Toyota sought to increase the number of meals given out per hour. Through small changes, the team was able to increase the number of emergency meal boxes from 25 to 450 per hour, providing 250,000 meals in the process, and proving that small changes can have a huge impact!

Watch Supermarché documentary to see what changes Toyota made and why these changes matter. Toyota will also donate one meal to Food Bank For New York City, up to 1,000,000 meals by July 19, for each video view.”

Please view the video above. It’s for such a great cause! There are so many families that need this food for survival. I think it’s really amazing what Toyota has done to maximize the overall performance of the Meals Per Hour program. It’s nice to see that this company does a lot more then just sell cars. And luckily there is a program like Meals Per Hour that is providing food for these families in need. It’s nice to know there are some really awesome people in this world.

I think the team from the Toyota Production System Support Center is brilliant. The way you organize things truly does make a difference. It’s the little things that make a big difference sometimes. Lately I have been trying to coupon more and making a grocery list and sticking to it. Normally,I would just go to the grocery store and wander for hours and fill up my cart with useless junk. Not only was I burning a whole in my wallet, but I was wasting time as well. Wandering around aimlessly for groceries is no fun!  I much rather be spending quality time with my family.

I have been making meal plans, writing down the ingredients I need. I then check online to see if there are any coupons I can print to use  towards the things I need. Once I get to the store shopping is so much easier! I have my list and I stick to it. No more buying things that I really don’t need and will just sit in my cabinets. I spend less time at the store and more time at home. It’s crazy how much of a difference it makes. Small changes can indeed have a huge impact!

It’s really great when corporations can step forward to help out in a crisis. Kudos to Toyota for launching this initiative.
