The holidays season is right around the corner! I for one, love the holidays! Love spending time with my family & friends. I love walking around my neighborhood and seeing people’s houses decorated. Though the holidays are a fun time spent with the familia and loved ones, it can be stressful at times as well. Getting the house ready and all can get chaotic, but stop stressing! Today I wanted to share some tips to get your casa (home) ready for the holidays!
1. Plan Your Menu Ahead Of Time
Don’t wait until the last-minute to plan your delicious menu! Plan ahead of time, trust me! I remember running around last-minute for ingredients and having to go to several stores to find things I needed. Planning to make a pernil? A delicious turkey? Buy it, and freeze it!
2. Check your inventory
I’m sure you bought decorations last year, dig through your closet and find them! You might end up buying stuff you already own! So check before you buy!
3. Plan Your Outfits Ahead Of Time
Don’t wait until the last minute to figure out what you and your family are going to wear. Have the outfits and shoes picked out and left off to the side. That way, the day of- you won’t be going crazy figuring out what everyone is wearing!
4. Set a budget and stick to it
It can be hard not to go overboard with buying decorations and gifts, but stick to a budget. Your wallet will thank you later. As I mentioned before, check your inventory 1st before shopping for decorations. And as for gifts, remember the holidays aren’t only about gift giving…there’s more to it than that. I’m sure your family loves just spending time with you. Tis the season after all!
5. Stock Up On Essentials
Since you are going to be having guests over, be sure to stock up on essentials! I love shopping for Kimberly-Clark’s brands at BJ’s! From baby products to bathroom necessities, they have everything on my holiday prep shopping lists. I recently stocked up on Scott & Kleenex products from my local BJ’s!
I love going to BJ’s! I was able to find the products I needed along the walls near all the household cleaning and laundry products. Speaking of BJ’s, are you a member? If not, click here for a free 60-Day BJ’s membership offer (Valid through 12/31)! I love shopping at BJ’s because you can spend less time shopping for what you need, and more time with your familia!
I love all the different patterns on the Kleenex boxes!
Be sure to keep extra toilet paper easily accessible!
I bought the tray at a crafts store.
I added some flowers to make the bathroom more welcoming.
Looks pretty, doesn’t it?
Remember that, while you want a clean house, your guests are there to spend time with you, not give your house the “white glove” treatment. Relax and have fun! It’s the holidays after all! Eat some delicious pernil or tamales, drink some coquito and play loteria! Enjoy each others company and create memories! Nothing like having your Tias, Tios, Primos and Abuelo’s (basically everybody) all under one roof!
Gabby and I excited to see everyone for the holidays!
