If you follow me on social media you probably see me post about Orgullosa quite often! But there is nothing like promoting and working with a brand and company you truly stand behind! I am proud to announce that I am a #MamiSelfie correspondent for Orgullosa! Check out the awesome box of goodies they sent me! Gracias!
Today I want to talk to you all about being an Orgullosa Mami! Being a mother is the best thing that has happened to me. Hands down, the best! My daughter Gabriella brings so much happiness and orgullo into my life. Growing up my mom would always tell me how much she loved me, but I never quite understood how much she truly did love me, until I became a mother myself! The love you feel for your children is so different then the love you have and feel with a significant other. It’s an indescribable feeling. It’s an amazing feeling!
The picture above is my mom Carlota and I back in 1987 when I was a baby! My mom passed away on December 30th,2013. There isn’t a day that goes by where I don’t think about her or miss her. (Great, now I am going to start crying while writing this post! lol) Even though she is no longer around, she will never ever be forgotten! Every day Gabby and I are like “Grandma would of liked this”, or “This was Grandma’s favorite drink”,etc. Something always reminds us of her. She was such an amazing mami. Seriously, she was awesome! So many people loved her. She was a single mama and did a great job at giving me an amazing childhood! She was very orgullosa of me. And like I mentioned before I never truly understood until I became a mother myself.
A few months ago my friend Savannah was visiting me from Boston. We’ve been friends for many, many years so she knew my mom. They actually shared the same birthday! lol Anywho, I was talking to Savannah about motherhood and she stopped me and was basically like “Virginia, that’s exactly what your mother would have done! You are becoming your mother.” It made me really happy to hear that from my friend because I really want to be just as amazing as my mami!

I am so Orgullosa of my daughter Gabriella. She is such a smart, happy and loving 7 year old! Her dad and I are very proud of her. She is doing great in school, they actually want to test her for the gifted and talented program! Talk about orgullo! I know ALL parents think their children are amazing. But I really feel blessed with the child I have. Everything I do, I do it for her. The long hours and stress from work, all worth it. I want to give her an amazing life! The same way mami did with me!
Motherhood is amazing! I love teaching my daughter and seeing her grow as an individual. Most importantly I love teaching her about her culture. Whether it’s trying to teach her spanish. (Yes, I said trying…lol She’s not fully bilingual. Don’t judge!) Talking to her about my moms native country- Guatemala or cooking some delicious recipes in the kitchen. I want her to be Orgullosa of being latina, like me! I love being latina!
Kids are so funny! Out of the box of goodies we were sent, my daughter Gabriella was most excited about the selfie stick and the Charmin Chamomile toilet paper! lol Charmin is our brand of choice when it comes to toilet paper. Charmin plus the scent of chamomile is great because it has the soothing aroma of chamomile. Who doesn’t love chamomile?! Gabby was excited to take a whiff. I was too! haha I love that Charmin Chamomile is 2-ply and septic-safe! Gabby and I love how soft it is too!
