Over the course of the year I’ve lost some weight. Working out has been a huge factor, but the most important factor in losing weight has been the eating part! You can work out all you want, but if you aren’t eating properly then all the working out is going to waste! Today I wanted to share some tips on meal prepping for weight loss! Meal prepping has been key in my fitness journey!
Tip 1: Make a shopping list
Create a shopping list and stick to it! I jot down all the items needed for my meal prepping and just purchase those items. Don’t let temptation get the best of you! Put those cookies down! Oh, and if you don’t own a lunch bag, make sure to get one too, especially if you’re going to work!
Tip 2: Have plenty of food containers on hand
I usually separate my meals into 5 different containers, 1 for every day of the week. And then I usually put any extra food I make into other containers for meals at home. It makes life a lot easier when you can just grab and lunch and head out the door! And if you don’t have any or enough containers, then add that to your shopping list as well!
Tip 3: Find delicious recipes to make
I love Pinterest for finding delicious recipes to make! I get tired of making the same things over and over, so Pinterest or the internet in general is a great resource!
Tip 4: Pack snacks
This tip, I learned the hard way… I’d pack my lunch, but then my job has a plethora of snacks available. So I’d eat a nutritious meal, but then I’d mess it up by snacking on junk food at work. I love to pack snacks such as string cheese, fruit and one of my faves, Lorissa’s Kitchen Korean Barbeque Beef! I love Lorissa’s Kitchen products because they all feature a clean label with many better-for-you benefits, including:
- 100% Grass-Fed Beef
- Responsibly Raised Pork
- No Preservatives
- No Added Growth Hormones
- No Added MSG
- No Added Nitrites
- Gluten Free
I love snacks with protein, since they keep me fuller longer, especially in between meals! Lorissa’s Kitchen has many delicious flavor options as well:
- Lorissa’s Kitchen Sweet Chili Pork
- Lorissa’s Kitchen Ginger Teriyaki Chicken
- Lorissa’s Kitchen Szechuan Peppercorn Beef
Tip 5: Stay hydrated
Water is so good for you! I definitely notice a difference when I’m properly hydrated vs when I’m not. Although, I have to admit, I get tired of drinking just regular plain old water, so one of my favorite beverages to drink is Honest Tea® Organic Honey Green Tea! I love that it’s just a tad sweet and tastes delicious! Have you tried Honest Tea? Which flavor is your favorite?
Tip 6: Pick a day to meal prep
My meal prepping day is Sundays. Pick a day and stick with it. I work a usual M-F job, so Sunday’s works for me. Find what works best for you. I put on some music and have fun while I cook! Meal prepping doesn’t have to be difficult! It may seem a little hard at first, but once you get the ball rolling you’ll be fine!
I love going to my local Walmart to pick up my groceries and snacks for my meal prepping! Lorissa’s Kitchen and Honest Tea is a perfect snack option- in fact better for you options! I usually find both products by the registers to check out. Save some money as well by using the Ibotta app!
