Gabby was able to have double the fun (and candy) this year for Halloween! Since we lost power here in New Jersey due to Sandy, Gabby went to her dad’s house in Brooklyn for a few days. He luckily didn’t lose power and so they ended up going out trick or treating on Halloween. Governor Christie postponed Halloween until Monday November 5th here in New Jersey.
At 1st I was unsure on taking Gabby trick or treating. Not only was it not the day of-but we are also new to the area so I wasn’t sure where to take her..I ended up taking her on the main strip by our place where there are lots of local businesses. We left around 3pm since I figured that’s when most kids would be out and about. We couldn’t have picked a more perfect time! We ended up tagging along with a nice group of mama’s and their kiddos of all ages.
Princess Belle a.k.a Gabriella had fun running in and out of all the stores, stuffing candy into her hot pink pumpkin bucket. Luckily there were older kids in our crew who took the lead and would inform us on whether or not the stores had candy.Us mama’s took turns holding the doors for all the kids to run in and out of. I know it sounds cheesy, but I honestly felt a nice sense of community. It made me happy about moving to a different state and surroundings.
Gabby had an awesome time and collected tons of goodies! She even shared some of her candy with Abuelita and mommy. I’m glad the kids were still able to enjoy a nice Halloween after Sandy!
*PS- Doesn’t Gabriella make such an adorable #LatinaPrincess ?
