Gabby’s class has a little party for every Holiday! I was trying to come up with a different idea for a treat (versus baking or buying cupcakes like I usually do) and came up with this simple Easter treat- Peeps In A Basket! You will need the ingredients pictured above.
Step 1 is creating the actual basket part. I found these really cute cupcake baking cups at Walmart. I thought they were perfect for Easter/Spring! I used pipe-cleaners for the handle part. I secured them by taping them on the inside.
Step 2- I used an additional plain baking cup for the inside of the basket. To make a nest I used cotton candy. YUM! I then placed a peep on top of the nest. I used Reese’s Peanut Butter eggs for more decor. (Tip: Place an egg directly on each side of the peep where the part that you ripped it apart from shows..just to cover it and make it look nicer).
Just pop the decorated baking cup in the basket and voila! you are done! Aren’t these just adorable? I can’t wait to hand them out in Gabby’s class!
Here a few variations I made to mix it up a little bit:
For those who may not like peeps..here is an alternative- Eggs in a basket!
Or you can fill a plastic Easter egg up with some yummy candy!
Are you all ready for Easter?
