If Grandma Were Here By Amber L. Bradbury – #BookReview + GIVEAWAY!

When I first found out that my long time mommy friend Amber published a book, I was super excited! I’m always rooting for my friends to win. She sent me a copy and I was in love right away! The book was definitely bittersweet and I’ll explain why…..

Amber and I both unfortunately lost our moms in 2013. It was rough. Losing a parent is something you really can’t fully relate to, unless you’ve gone through it. Amber is one of few friends who could relate to me on that grief.

Synopsis of “If Grandma Were Here”:

If Grandma Were Here, what would you do together? Would you
sing a song? Go on an amazing adventure? Or give each other a giant hug? See
what special things grandmas and grandkids do together! This treasure chest
of memories is a perfect way for kids and parents who miss their grandma to
remember her kindness and her love.

If Grandma Were Here was so beautifully written! Although my daughter is 13, she enjoyed the book! “We did that with Grandma too!”. It was a great way to revisit the past. The illustrations by Jessica Corbett are amazing! They tie in beautifully with Amber’s story! Amber’s next book will be “If Grandpa Were Here” so definitely stay tuned for that!

Amber and I have partnered up for a giveaway! We will be giving away the following:

1 Winner- Hardcover copy of “If Grandma Were Here” + a tote bag

Happy National Grandparents Day!

My momma & Baby Gabby 2008

Today is Grandparents Day! Grandparents Day or National Grandparents Day is celebrated in various countries! It was created to showcase the bond between grandparents and grandchildren. It takes place on the first Sunday after Labor Day!

My mom would always tell me that obviously she loved me, but that the love you have for your grandchildren is like no other! Seeing the way she interacted with my daughter, I knew it was true. Her love radiated! Even years later after her passing, my daughter still remembers how much her Grandma loved her!

My daughters Grandfather or “Pop Pop” as she calls him is another very important figure in my daughters life. She loves spending quality time with him and was even concerned when she knew a baby brother would be coming into the picture. But that’s the beauty of it all, grandparents have so much love to give and reassured her, that he wouldn’t love her any less!

Speaking of love, today also celebrates those Grandparents who may not be blood related, but still love their grand babies so dang much! Today is your day as well!

Hope you all have an amazing National Grandparents Day! Be sure to show all your Grandparents a little extra love today and for those who may no longer be here with us, take today to reflect back on the amazing memories you have with them!
